we picked up a 69 johnson 85hp 4 cyl. today and she has no fire..... turns over key switch works and all but not firing following the test procedures in the book it says use a s80 tester... which i assume is a kind of test light correct? i have a multimeter and a regular test light and where it is supposed to be getting a minumum reading of 250 out of post number 5 on the power block i get 0 we used the test light and got no flash but that was a regular test light. so we got to the point of either the amp is bad or the points are out of whack and ultimatley decided the amp is bad based on our testing. no parts have been purchased yet as i want to make sure the regular test light will do the same thing as this s80 tester the book talks about. if it is different where do we get on a the correct testers?
