So I picked up a 1969 Starcraft Chieftain about a week ago and I really need to get the trim lines replaced but I can't seem to figure out how to get them off. Please see attached picture and if you have any help and advice I would appreciate it thank you. This is my first post by the way glad to be here with my first boat

Well before you start spending money check the transom for and rot or soft spots, consider a donor boat for a transom replacement with a much newer type.

Transom looks pretty good it has a little bow to it. This coming winter I plan on replacing it. My buddy is getting a jig setup to build a rock crawler so hopefully I will be able to build a new transom. I may wait to do the trim then but the boat won't really plane with the broken trim and it's hard on reverse because the motor jumps up

120hp 4cyl. So I believe this is a Mercruiser 3.0? I've looked up Mercruiser Alpha ones and Bravo ones and neither seemed to have the same trim line layout. They all have a manifold under the gimbal housing where is mine is inside of the gimbal housing
