I think I broke a piece on carb. Theres a lean rich screw coming out front of carb. Inside there this screw seats into alloy threaded piece that apears set in. I have dislodged this alloy piece and wonder. Is it doomed? or perhaps repairable somehow. Thanks for any help. also where are the numbers to i.d. year of this aprox 1969 18horse evenrude

Re: 1969 evenrude carb

Hey lewkster, welcome to the forum.

The piece you dislodged is just a bushing and will fall out. Just replace it with new packing and you should be good to go.

There should be a tag on the transom bracket with the model and serial number on it or look on the engine for a core plug. The model/serial number will be there also. Please post the model number and we can get you the year. It sounds like your engine maybe a tad older or just possibly a different hp. Thanks.
