Looking for information on this outboard, and can't find much. Wondering if anyone of you fine folks might have a brochure, owner's manual, or any type of technical info on it. I'm considering the purchase of a boat with this motor on it, but want to know what exactly I'm looking at before I take the plunge. Thanks!

Pretty decent motor in it's day but unfortunately it's day has come and gone. As long as it runs good and does what you need it to do it'll be fine. It'll burn a good amount of fuel, not a very efficient motor. The gearcase is the hydro-electric style and the ignition was only made a couple of years so parts are gonna be hard to come by. If you can buy the package at a decent price and can replace the motor if needed then go for it if you like the boat.

I'm looking at trading my motorcycle straight across for the boat, a 1969 18 ft Starcraft Holiday. When I meet the fella tomorrow, I just want to be sure that the motor is functioning correctly. I'll check if the waterpump is working sufficiently, but don't know where the outlet is. Also wondering if it is electric, vacuum, or manual choke on the carb? Through-hub exhaust?

No 100 hp built in 1969, 68' had a 100 and 71' had 100. Big difference between the two, be sure what you are buying.

Are you sure it is a 1969? By the parts breakdowns I looked at there was not a 100hp in 1969, there is one listed in 1968.

Well, I am by no means an expert. His ad stated 1969, so that is what I'm going from. I'll find out when I can view the boat and engine tags. Happen to know where I can find some info on this motor?

It is on the left engine mounting bracket.
