It is highly unlikely that all of the wires have gone bad at once. Describe all that you have done to troubleshoot.

thanks for the reply, i was told by a friend who used to work on boat moters to check if i am getting power to the hole system so i have done that and all seems to be good but im still not getting spark. i was also told that the gap from the flywheel and the stator my not be right witch would cause no spark but not sure how to check the gap because the flywheel covers the stator. i am sure i am in over my head but the engine is the last part of my two year restoration project.

Make notes, take pictures before dismantling anything, don't depend on memory.

Now, unbolt the coil from the engine temporarily, then unscrew it from the distributor cap, then rebolt the coil to where it was. Remove the spark plugs.

Rig a spark tester to the brass screw end of the coil lead, setting a 3/8" gap. Crank the engine over. THe spark should jump that gap with a strong blue lightning like flame... a real SNAP! Does it? Note that the gap is important.... testing spark by using a spark plug is a waste of time!
