1969 evinrude 9.5 with a striped plug

I just got a evinrude 1969 9.5 motor from a neighbor the other day and it has a stripped out plug....what can i do to repair it....is it worth fixing....if anyone has info about it let me know...thanks

helicoil it, costs the price of a helicoil kit and a head gasket. pop the head off before you do it to avoid getting debris in the motor. easy job, we do them all the time.

Helicoil. Do take the head off first, and use the loctite in the kit:
