1969 evinrude johnson 85 hp v4. What motors have compatibles parts?

Any help? Figger I better get a parts motor if I can.......current motor won't reverse. Thanks for any cross reference years

1969/70 and some 71 models, 85/115 hps

The older V4 had shift solenoids which are very costly. You probably have (Hopefully have) a broken wire to the solenoid and not getting into R is more then likely an electrical problem and would not require a "Parts motor" which can be tough since the electric shift V4 motors are rare.

Never go into a lower unit without first checking the electrical system. Bad shift switches and wires are far more common than internal problems.
