Hello All,

New here. Looking at an older Islander for fishing and overnighting on inland Wisconsin waters. Castle Rock, Chip flowage, etc. How tall are the cabins? Can a six footer sit upright without hitting their head? Is the cabin more than 6' long? Would hate to drive all over and then find I don't fit!

TIA

Dan

Are you sure you're thinking of the Islander and not a Chieftan:

Yes, Islander as in background. Need something tall enough to sit up in long enough to sleep in. Will check out the brochures.

I just posted a link to one outside of Davenport, IA as well...sounds like a running motor even from the brief description.

Thanks All

MN, I'm looking at the Quad City boat this weekend. Was hoping to a definite answer before I spend a whole day driving. Guess nothing ventured nothing gained!

Hope it all works out for you! When I picked up my '72 Nova, I was responding blind to a "16ft aluminum boat" with no pictures and little knowledge of even the make when I spoke with the guy on the phone. Granted, it was an internal posting on our work classifieds and my trip was only 30 minutes, but it was a rare find that I got one helluva deal on. I think that one is worth a look and I'd be all over it if I were currently in the market. Fortunately for you...I'm not :D. I hope to find some big tin in a few more years, but I've got other work to do at the present and the smaller boats are actually more suitable to my current needs.

Keep us posted...with lots of pics!!
