I am in the process of fixing up a 1969 johnson 40 horse electromatic. The wiring harness was thrashed. I've got everything working except the choke solenoid. My question is where is the wire from the solenoid suppose to go? It has the hot air type choke. Is there suppose to be a choke button or is this run off the key switch or is there a sensor somewhere? Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming you are not using a push-to-choke key switch, You need a push button choke switch. Run a wire from the key switch "A" terminal to one side of the choke switch. Then another wire goes from the other side of the choke switch, back to the solenoid on the carburetor.

How do I create a new post?
Got a 1977 johnson 140 outboard and after I push the key in, it doesn't "click" or chocke anymore?
