1969 Johnson 6hp Seized Engine

I went to a local boat shop to pickup a manual and he has giving me 5 old outboards out of his "bone pile" to mess with. One is a 1969 Johnson 6hp that the pistons are stuck to the engine block and the motor will not turn over. I have tried spraying Liquid Wrench and WD-40 while taking a breaker bar with a socket and trying to turn the flywheel and that has not loosened the pistons up. Is there anything else I can try?<br /><br />Bill

Don't torque the flywheel to much, as that motor has aluminum rods and they're easily warped. Generally, if I've got a motor that stuck, I do a complete teardown. This way you can see if the crank, rods, etc. are any good as well. Then, take the motor block to a shop with an arbor press or hydraulic press and punch the pistons out. If it turns out they're scuffed or all the innards are rusted up, take a peak at eBay for a parts motor. There's been several in the past week. I bought a 6hp powerhead with good compression over the winter for $25.00, shipping included! I might even have some parts if you figure out what you'll be needing...<br />- Scott
