ok guys and gals i have a 1969 OMC stinger stern drive electric shift thats hooked to a 4 cylinder gm 120hp. i found another stringer lower unit on a blown motor thats in great shape for the year! idk what year or model it is but it is electric shift just like mine and it looks just like mine however its on a straight 6 inline engine. i can get the whole boat for $250 but im not sure if it will work on my engine? my lower unit is crapped out, my tilt doesnt work, and its in very rough shape with corrosion and etc. can i bolt all this to my engine and it work? id like to take everything off my engine and replace it all including the bell housing, tilt system, along with the upper and lower gear case? i read somewhere that they are diffrent spline and tooth count or something on diffrent engines?? if i swap the whole outfit it shouldnt matter about the spine and tooth count right? will it bolt up to my engine (from bellhousing down)from straight 6 to straight 4?
