now I got the ignition problem solved took this boat out and ran it the last couple weekends. Awesome power. Only problem now is the overheat light/alarm sounds. Very week and would only sound last week at full throttle...throttle down and it would quit. Today it was off and on the whole day. I did not run the boat for longer than a min or two due to not wanting to damage the motor. There is not much water coming out the two exhaust relief holes. Looking at the manual it seems real simple to drop lower unit and change the impeller, am I correct?

Replace the entire water pump kit. Simply replacing the impeller is a patch job which could (and usually does) result in double work.

After installing the water pump, if the engine runs too cool, or still too hot, replace the thermostat assembly.

how much water should be coming out of the exhaust relief holes? Water barely spits out enough to make your hand wet. Also could not find water pump kits and thermostat assembly in iboats. any other place to find these?
