1970 1150 Distributor Coil Wire - trick for removal?

I'm trying to remove the distributor, but I don't know how the coil wire is supposed to disconnect. Before I break anything, I thought I'd ask. It is my understanding that the coil and spark plug wires somehow screw into the distributor. Is this right? If so, where (how) do I remove the coil wire so that I can remove the distributor? Once again my manual falls short for an answer.

Once again, thanks for the help in advance.

I have a 1977 1150 & the wire is threaded into the distributor cap & pushed into the coil. You need to pull the wire out of the coil & then unscrew from distributor. If it is similiar to mine. It is tough to pull the wire out, but it is just threaded on the distributor side.
