Resealing the LU. got the complete reseal kit.

everything going smooth until time to remove the shift rod seal.
Manual only says need special tapered tool to remove. Obtain tool and remove and replace seal.:(

I do not have the tapered tool so any suggestions. Thanks for the replies.

I still have it c clamped to the work bench.

Probaly get back at it tomorrow afternoon.

Raised the 85hp a couple of inches higher on the redneck jackplate and itching to see how that skeeter is going to do now that the ignition is correct, and got the GPS to check the actual speed, tach working great, had to wire up a common ground. hope the wind is not so bad tomorrow.

I can't tell you here on this forum that I sell those tools on e-bay, but it doesn't matter anyhow because I am temporarily out of them. To make amends, I'll tell you that you can run a 5/16" USS tap into the bushing about 3 turns, then screw a bolt into the threads you just made and use a pin punch to knock the bolt and bushing out from the other end.
