1970 40hp Evinrude 40052A Water Pump Sealant

OMC service manual says apply Sealer 1000 ( I plan to use 3M Scotch-Weld 847) to gearcase and position impeller plate on gearcase.

When I install the new impeller housing, should I use sealer on the bottom of the housing and top of the impeller plate. Manual does not say to do this but it seems like you would want to.

Yea, I think the manual does not say to do it is because you don't want to get glue on the impeller vanes. Just oil the impeller and put on the impeller housing with vanes in proper direction.

I believe most will say don't bother with the adhesive.
