I went on line and printed a wiring diagram and working on making sure everything is correct.
Trigger wire is messed up will be replacing it soon found one for $40.
any input would be appreciated not too familiar with the Johnsons. model #85 ESL 70B
Thanks

By not firing I am assuming you mean that it will not start. To start your engine, we need fuel, spark and air. Do you have a spark tester to check your spark? Are your plugs in good condition (I would replace them anyways if you just bought the motor). What is your starting procedure? If you are unsure, view the Cold Starting Procedure thread in the "TOP SECRET FILE" at the top of the Johnson & Evinrude forum. Maybe even take a gander at the "Why won't my engine start?" thread.

You would assume correctly no spark/fire from the dist. to the end of the wire to the plug ,tracing back to the trigger and to the coil doing process of elimination. Looking for feedback for someone a little more familiar than me with working on Johnsons outboard.
thanks for the input.
