1970 evinrude trolls but wont propel at higher RPM

Hi, I have a 1970 evinrude 18 hp outboard, I had it out and everything ran great but later in the day it was opened up full throttle and it seemed as if it went into neutral but when I backed off it trolled just fine. From there on out if I tried to go past 1/4 throttle it would not propel it just seemed like it wasn't engaged but if I backed off it was fine. I am new to these motors and don't know where to start looking if anyone could direct me I would greatly appreciate it Thanks.

Sounds like a spun prop hub.
Remove prop, draw a line accross the back of prop hub with a Sharpie- you want to make sure that you mark the prop on both sides of the ruber hub, go for a ride and when you return, check to see if the line is still straight. If not, a new prop or get your's repaired.
