Hi all,
Been sopping up the info around here (Starcraft and otherwise) for a while. Figured I may as well actually contribute
So, here's the new lady. I believe a 1970 Starcraft Fisherman Deluxe. The spot on the inside of the transom where the model info would be has been painted, so I can't make out any info. Picked it up from a fellow who had redone the interior -- decks, redone the livewell, etc.
Just wondering if anyone happens to have owned this model before. If so, any thoughts/tips/etc.? The one thing I can't figure out is the proper outboard motor length. Seems, based on size, made for a short shaft, and the original owner had a 66 Johnson (fdl-20c) laying around that, assumedly, he used with it. But my measurements show the transom to keel length as 22"+. Either I'm not measuring correctly, or the transom is longer than I thought and maybe a long shaft motor is needed. Any thoughts?
(Apologize for the scant pics. Had to use up precious disk space for pics of a few nics/chips/etc to post in the repair forum.)
Thanks again for all the great info guys -- such a resource for those of us who are just getting our feet wet, as it were.
