I am currently replacing the stringers, foam, and deck of my boat due to it being rotten away. My question is which type of wood would be best to replace the stringers and if so what is the best way to install the new stringers.

thank you.

Re: 1970s Invader Deck and stringer restoration

hi.....welcome to iboats !

post pics......we all love a good battle with a boat.....lol.....

the wood commonly used is exterior grade plywood....not osb....but ply.

if you can use the old stringers as templates...great.....but in most cases you cant.
take lots of measurements....like height form several different areas.

click the link in my sig.....it has a full stringer transom replacement documentation for you to follow
