1971 18 hp Evinrude Kill switch

My kill switch disingrated. I want to install just a regular rocker switch. Where do the 2 wires from the points go? Do both go to each terminal on the switch so they complete a circut? Or do both go to one terminal on the switch and ground to the other? A diagram would be really helpful.

To STOP the motor the switch connects the 2 wires together.----It is that simple.
