i have been looking everywhere for pictures literature but im cheap and dont want to join the c.c. page for 35 busk... to me it isnt worth it...i just need some help and maybe a few pics of what my boat looked like new so i know what direction i want to take mine in .its a 71 chris craft lancer... measures out almost 20 ft...19' 7" it has a 307 in it and its a big beautiful boat.... just in need of some cosmetic repairs and more than likely a few others ....lol but if anyone has pictures i could use them to get mine back into colors and what its supposed to look like.. paint colors would be greatly appreciated...as the blue on the top is really faded and gel coat seems all but gone. going to take alot of buffing and such to get her to shine again and id love to make her look good at the same time..any literature would be a plus if you all have it or know of a way i can find it... other than the c.c. antuque boat club....to me you dont mean to help if your charging to even post in the forums...i will help if i have any knowledge on the subject...and iboats has been a great resource for me.. ty guys and hopefully i can get another boat ready for the water with you help...as soon as i figure out how to post some pics ill post them ...

no one with any pictures or anything wow:eek:...anyways i changed out the ignition switch the other day and i'm going to put in a glass fuel line filter due to the boat sitting for two years i do not know the shape the inside of the tank is in ... i don't want anymore crud in the carb...as it is a quadrojet i don't want to have to buy another one.... rebuilds aren't easy to come by here as in the lack of knowledge from old schoolers..... sorry but i have not seen a quadro be rebuilt by anyone else that was worth its weight unless it was rebuilt by someone that was in the 60's era...lol but due to the lack there of 'im hoping that carb is in good running shape.I am waiting till after the holiday to send it to the shop to be summerized... he is gonna change all the fluids n such ... most importantly he is gonna start the motor...:D ill be praying on that day....i know ill have some repairing to do that not of the concern... i dont want to have to find another motor..yes fining a 350 or something would and is easy here... but i want the original motor in it...something to do with the rarity of a 307 around here that i like....heck most boat mechanics i've talked to around here are like you have a what in your boat....lol they either have never heard of a 307 and or never seen one...i'm hoping that all is good cause i'm not sure if the carb is bad what to replace it with...let alone if the intake can be changed from the one on the 307 to something else like a high rise or dual plane for a car...not been into marine engines much .... cant imagine they are that much different than that out of a car or truck. although the distributor has been relocated on this one to the front:confused:...got the storage cover rebuilt the other day also... 3/4 in marine ply with a nice coat of bed liner to water proof it even more...i'm thinking i'll probably bed line the storage also to help cut down noise and make it a little tougher if things get tossed in there i don't want them to hurt the hull ..it was covered with bright blue vinyl eeeewwww and yuck as to it sitting it released and stretched and was pretty nasty to remove...more like dried out super strong gravy... lol well that's it for now hope to have my lap top out of the shop next week and i'll post up a few pictures.

lol simply cause for 2 bucks a shot.. id rather waste than 15 bucks a shot...lol im sure the tank has crap in it and id rather waste a cheap filter than to spend 15 on one ill be putting in perm. parts here are not cheap for anything ...i figure even if i go through 3 or 4 of the 2 dollar filters when i go to the water ill have put in the good one and have the whole summer to use the higher dollar one....same theory of strainin paint through a panty hose rather than a 5 buck paint strainer...use the hose and when it comes to brass tacks then use the strainer...lol... but yeah i know what your saying..no im not gonna use the drop filter either this is all inline...but its a matter of simply i know ill clog up a few before i get the tank to useable condition..and id rather not waste 15 bucks a shot...i do understand what your saying ...and i appreciate the thought on it..if the tank wasnt in bad shape thats exactly what i would have done.

Ayuh,... The Problem with yer thinkin' is,...
The little in-line filters will pass Water....

I've used a cannister filter, 'n electric fuelpump to polish tanks of fuel by pumping through the filter, right back into the tank...
When the cannister is full of crud, 'n water,...
Dump it out, 'n continue polishing...

In other words, yer wasting yer time, 'n Money on the in-lines...

well there is a though i wasnt thinking bout using a electric pump with it ...but now that ya mention it....oh and i called the man that gonna summerize the boat he told me not to worry he is gonna clean the tank also...well... save me the head ache there ...lol now to think about fixing my floor...got a weak spot between the storage and the engine not a big one but i rather not have rotten decking in it...eventually ill prolly replace the whole floor and glass the underside and topside...hopefully thatll make it a little more water proof...and low maintence...least its a theory...lol
