The gear case on my 1971 50 hp evinrude has 2 little holes, one above and bellow where the water intake is. water will come out those holes when I have the water hooked up to it but also I noticed that the gear grease seeps out the top hole. Does any one know what's wrong? Is there a seal or something inside that I need to replace?
Thanks for all your help.

If I understand your description, those are exhaust housing drains. The oil coming outis most likely unburn't oil from the engine, not an uncommon proplem when running on a hose.

They are 2 little holes bought the size of finishing nail and they are just on one side of the gear case. Appreciate your thoughts but it is gear case oil and it seeps out all the time but just out of the top hole. Any other ideas as to why it is happening?
Again thanks for any help.
