Re: 1971 60hp Evinrude Triumph low RPM'S under load
SS....need a little info here. How long ya' owned this engine? Is this a new problem or inherited one?

Tell ya' what to do.....First get some compression readings. This is just to make sure the cylinders are in good shape.

Do a spark check. Each spark should jump at least a 7/16" gap with a hot blue white spark. If any don't, need to figure out why and repair.

Do a good look over of the fuel lines. Any hard ones. If so, remove them and replace with new. Hard hoses lose their grip and can suck air. Same with the fuel line from the tank.

Have any idea how long it's been since the carbs have been over hauled? If you don't know, may be a good thing to consider.

Got a manual? If not....do yourself a large favor and get one. Will help you immensly (sp?) a lot.

If you got questions...don't hesitate to post.
