1971 60hp johnson outboard

HELP PLEASE
I have had this motor for some time now and just got it running correctly and now when i go to motor up in gear it like pops out of gear and has little reverse is the spring getting wore or is it something more sever?please let me know thanx

Propeller hub slipping??
Your motor has hydro-Electric shift. There are tons of information written on them here. Do a search
