I have a 1971 60 HP Johnson that wont under load...the engine sat for a number of years...I have taken the carbs off and cleaned them...In addition to changing out a number of bad wires...I can start the engine very easily...and in a deep tank run the engine in neutral up to high rpms...pumps water because I changed the pump...but when I shift in to gear it shifts fine...and will run across the lake at slow speed...but when I try to give more gas..it bogs down and stops...I have the Seloc manual..but I am missing something...any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

You may need to do a linc-n-sync since you pulled the carb for cleaning. Timing advance and carb butterfly need to be in synch. Others have posted how to do this...do a search. I had same prob with a 73 Merc 500 and my local marina mech fixed me up for $50...money well spent.

You may need to get yourself a manual to linc an synch those carbs. It can be a bit tricky since you are dealing with a tower of 3 carbs.

Ebay is a great place to check for manuals.

Pump the primer bulb when this happens. The fuel pump may be shot from sitting...
