1971 and a 1978 6hp parts interchangable?

I just picked up a 1978 6hp for my sailboat that originally had a 1971 6hp. I see that the 1978 has a cut off button and a "tell tale" weap hole in the bottom of the casing. Are the impeller part numbers the same? How about the lower units?

There are interchangeable parts but you can look up the numbers and compare and verify compatibility.

what parts do you think or do you need?
I have john6hp from 73 and evinrude6hp from 79.allmost all parts are the same,except ignition plates is different.in evinrud are outhern coils as powerpacr i would call
