I recently just picked up a 1971 Carver 26 powered by a 235hp 307GM and an OMC drive. The boat sat for a number of years but after doing a tune-up it fired right up. I bought the boat from the estate of the original owner who passed away but nobody knew anything about the boat except that it was always stored inside. I did put 5 gallons of fresh gas in it but I'm wondering if this engine needs a lead additive? Also I'm wondering if anyone has a link to an impeller replacement. I've never done one on a stringer drive and I know they're kind of difficult.

No need for lead additive. I stopped using one a couple years ago on advice from here on iboats, and have had no issues at all.

Impeller change on an Electric shift is pretty easy actually. At the bottom of the upper gear-case. A few bolts and you're in business. There's a thread on it HERE (on a 400 which is a little different from your electric shift), but it's better learned from a manual.
