It runs good in the drive way and appears to have all the R.P.M"s but as soon as I put it in the water under load it will only get 1/4 throttle and I press on for more it boggs down,so I have to let up on it.....it idles aruond just great! LOL any ideas on whats the problem? I belive it has to do something with a fuel problem.I have put new gas in it already. Still the same.the model is #1207 HD thank you for any help Chuck

I had the same problem with my 73 Chrysler 70HP. There was some debris caught in one of the carbs. I'm guessing your carbs need to be cleaned or the fuel pump rebuilt. I would be careful running it. If one of the carbs is clogged you could burn out a piston pretty quick.

Hi, thanks alot...... I took off the bottom of the carbs today to see if they had dirt in them and they was fairly clean........but as I took off the bottom of the second carb guess what I found? a carb jet laying in the bottom of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It must have vibrated lost .....what a surprise.........I bought this boat behind a farmers field here in Wisconsin,so I never the engine checked out.I was a auto mechanic for chrysler for years but never messed with boat motors.......I am sure this will be most of my problem, Now I have to contend with the throttle and gear adjustments on the control shifter.......I never did this before wish me luck!!!!!! thanks so much........if you have suguestions on the adjustment I could use them greatly! Chuck
