I recently bought an old boat with this motor on is and got it to running. The problem is if you let it sit and cool down the only way to crank it is to squirt a little gas in the carb. It will fire right up. It also seems like it wants to go dead at idle so you pull the choke out and it runs fine. The bubble on the fuel line wont get tight but if you squeze it you have to push the choke in. After about 5 min of doing this it seems like it warms up and runs great. Any suggestions on where I can find a carb kit? Are these good motors?

Franz marine might have the parts U need.
First take the carb apart and make sur ethe jets and tiny holes are clean.
Replace all hoses squeezie too.
Any inline connectors? Get rid of them. The Ethanol is messing with the rubber and plastic and they can suck air.
Rebuild the fuel pump.
Base setting is about 1 and 1/16 turn out from bottom.
Gently screw air screw in till it bottoms(GENTLY).Remember the turns.Compare to the inital setting.J

Thanks Jerry. I found a carb on eBay someone was parting off their motor that looked in pretty good shape I bought. But I was fiddling around with it and sprayed two cans of carb cleaner in the jets and replaced my fuel lines and it cranks and runs alot more smooth. Where does the water come out from the water pump?
