1971 GT-160 - Rare?

Hello,
I have a '71 GT-160 I bought a couple of years ago. All in all a very solid boat - floor good, transom good, fare share of scratches, but nothing huge. It has '85 Mercury, 90 HP that runs great. Here are some pics:

As you can see by the pics it is in pretty decent shape, but not perfect. I have had it for a couple of years, but have yet to polish & wax it, which I am going to be doing today.

My question is, is this a rare boat? Does anyone know how many of these were made? I only ask because on classicglastron.com, they say "The sporty GT-160 with its spoiler tail is one great collectible Glastron. A top recommendation." It is the exact boat pictured in the brochure.

Obviously, anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I bought it for $3200 3 years ago, and until this last week haven't had to put any money into it (needed a new stator). I am not expecting it to be worth much more than what I paid, but just curious what a die hard glastron fanatic might pay or if this boat is indeed rare? What about if it was all original or in mint condition?

Any tidbits or info about this boat would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
Chris

Re: 1971 GT-160 - Rare?

Chris,

That is a beautiful looking boat! In the past year I myself got a 1972 GT-160 and it's not in nearly as nice of condition as yours. Would you happen to have any more pictures of the back seat area and how the seat comes out/flips out of the way? One of the previous owners of mine replaced the original seats with cheap replacements and I'd really like to get the boat close to original condition. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find too much information about these boats as well, especially in terms of parts. ClassicGlastron.com has a lot of good information and is a good place to start. Again, nice boat!!!
