I bought a used boat fixer upper.......I have fixed the interior and recoated the hull. Last year I had a repair shop work on the motor ( to GREAT expense) however it has never ran very well. They will not back up the work. I am looking for an HONEST, KNOWLEDGEABLE MECHANIC THAT CAN WORK ON MY OUTBOARD. Iy is a 1971 60 HP Johnson outboard. Season is coming up and my boat isn't, I live in the Salt Lake City Utah area. Please advise.

the best place to find a good mech, is to go hang out at the boat ramp. talk to people, they will tell you, very readily, who screwed them, and who did a great job.

nettie styron, when power is lost to the solenoids, the motor automatically defaults to forward.
