1971 Sportwin

Ok, Here is a good question for you. The bottom of my 71 Sportwin...directly above the prop on the underside of the fin, there is a small hole, about 1/8 inch. I notice that after I run it and pull it out of the water, some nasty sludge is running out of the hole. It is a foul looking mess with a strong odor of gasoline and very oily. Question is, What the hell is it!?! Is it supposed to have the pin hole? Am I about to burn up my lower unit? Thanks for the help!

Fear not that is a drain of sorts to be sure there is no water left in the leg when out of the water<br /> the discharge is normal unburned fuel and water.<br /> No worries.
