Hello again everybody just about done with my rebuild on my 71 Ash Craft Tri Haul. have one problem. I cannot figure out where the 3rd wire coming from the front of the boat goes? 2 come from the bow light but the 3rd one (RED) was never hooked up when I got it. could it be the Tach wire? and if so where does it hook up?

Tach wire is not red. Red is typically associated with +12 volts. Comes from the front of the boat? Where from the front? Is it hot all the time, only with the key on? What??????

Just a bit of technical lingo correction. You have a Tri-Hull -- not a Tri-Haul. Hull refers to the "hull" of the boat.

Ok not sure if you can tell in the picture but the wire is in a bundle of 3 , it runs from the rear near the light to right behind the dash

and roger on the (haul) that's to funny that's why I joined the Army! this is my first boat ever.

not allot of folks know what those 3 wires are for I see. but thanks silvertip I figured it is just a hot wire for whatever you want to use it for. but all lights work tach works so it is just an extra wire I guess.
