1972 18' Holiday I/ O fuel tank replacement

Looking to replace a steel 18 gal Mirax fuel tank in my just purchased ! 1972 I/O Holiday. Any suggestions ? Mirax replacement now is $255 aluminum . I was thinking polyethelene would be cheaper but can't seem to find the correct replacement online . Thanks !

I am getting my Miramax tanks coated , both tanks for about $150.00.
