As always, thank you for help. I have the motor, and I got it as a long shaft with the 5" extension. I have the conversion to short shaft almost complete, but, I am having a hard time finding part number 313524 which is the gearcase spacer, short length. It is an obsolete part, but a lot of them are. Iboats does not have it, so I ordered it from another place which sent the long version. I also ordered it from a well known auction site, and that guy cancelled my order and said he was out of them but part number 313519 is the same. I can't seem to find anything that supports his statement that 313519 and 313524 are the same part. Is there a way that anyone can verify that? 313519 is listed as a spacer, but in the exhaust housing, instead of the gearcase. If not, can anyone tell me if there is a different part number for 313524 that maybe replaced 313524?
Thank you for any help!

313524 is the short one
313519 is the long one.
Obviously not the same part.

Try a want ad at the Antique Outboard Club's website www.aomci.org (the ad is free-nothing to lose)

If all else fails, somebody might be able to make you one if you have the long one to go by. It's not like rocket science or anything.

He worked for the Navy Dept on such doo-dads as submarine missiles. That's about all I know, as most of it was secret. Except we were discussing our occupations one day and he said, "well at least somebody can use what you are working on. You better hope nobody uses what I'm working on."
