1972 50 hp joihnson not running right

i have a 1972 50 hp johnson that i am having a problem keeping running. i have cleaned the carbs and also replace the throttle cable. it will start right up and run as long as i have the manual choke pulled out , but as soon as i push the choke lever in it dies. i also seated the adjustment screws and turned them out 3/4 of a turn. anyone with suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks David

"as soon as i push the choke lever in it dies." that is the #1 clue. fuel delivery problem, carbs are either not clean, misadjusted, air leak in fuel system. did you do all in the carb post, and the carb adjustment post? TOP SECRET FILE > http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=299680
