Motor has sat for several years with ethanol rotted fuel lines. finally replaced with factory lines. Motor started up right away in tub, but would not stay running, unless started in gear (not good in tub), fuel screen is clear.

Put in pond started in gear ran real good for a while, now will start normally, idle and excelerate some but has no wide open power. thinking something might be in the carb.

Also it has a older replacement tank, (kmart) the pump bul does not seem to pump up hard. should it?

Does a carb rebuild kit have anything other than gaskets?

Anything else i should be looking at?

Was bulb replaced with fuel lines? It should get hard after a few priming pumps. You probably have some crusty trash that has loosened from carb with use and is now plugging up the jets. Carb kit will come with a float needle which shuts fuel off when carb gets full. This is what will make your bulb feel hard during priming.
