The shorting switch in my 1972 9.5 is fried, will this work?

Good choice. A kill switch is a much safer way to go. I put the identical switch on my 73-9.5 and a few other 9.9's and 15's as well. Fits the hole well but the hole is a little recessed on my 9.5 but it still works fine. Best of luck. Rick.
