I just recently bought this boat, and it's totally trashed. It's been sitting outside for upwards of 30 years and needs new everything, basically. It needs all new controls for the steering and throttle. I was wondering if I can just buy new cables since they're rusted, or if I need all new systems. I can buy the cables all together for around $100, but I'm looking at around $500 for all new throttle and steering cable kits. I know the throttle control is still linked to the cables because I was able to shift the outboard with the cables. However, I don't think I have the keys for the outboard, and even if I do, I'm not sure if it would work. I'm going to rewire the entire boat, but I'm looking to cut cost wherever I can, since the boat if only worth like $1,500 at best.
Thanks
