1972 Evinrude 125 no spark

I just got the motor and it has no spark. I have never done marine repair but am familiar with dirtbikes and motorcycles. I am told that it could be the stator or the trigger assembly? Well I have no idea what the trigger assembly is and cannot find a part that is called anything like it. The motor has a new pulse pack and spark plugs.

trigger is the center part of the stator, you also have a hydro-electric shift lower unit. look here: http://www.boatpartstore.com/page30.asp

Thank you. I decided to just work on it myself when I get the time. I know that my stator is shot since I took the flywheel off and checked it. Wow is it shot! What else would the trigger assembly be listed as? I cannot find it for sale encase it is shot as well.

on yours distributor cap. you can see parts diagrams here under ignition.
