Hi. I have a 72 Evinrude 25 model 25252R. Its currently mounted on my boat and hooked up to all the controls + steering.

It never turned as far one way as the other so I decided to investigate why. When I removed the steering and all the control cables, I can turn it manually all the way pushing the tiller handle to the right, but it doesn't go nearly as far to the left. Is this normal or is there some sort of stop adjustment I can make? Thanks in advance.

It is not normal and there is no such adjustment. You will have to look for whatever is interfering with it moving all the way. We can only guess.

I have the same problem with my 71 evinrude. Turns to the right 10-15 degrees more than turning to the left. I've adjusted the tube that wraps around the cable, and the further I move it to the left the better it turns both ways, but when I do that the cable turns too far and gets caught on the tube, so I have to push it back into the tube so i can steer the boat again. The further I move the tube to the right the less turn I get going to the right, but the cable does not get caught on the tube so don't lose control of my steering.
