Hi all, First, thanks for the help. I just bought a great 16' Larson alum. w/ a 'rude '72 50hp. I pick it up tomorrow, I have a manual (seloc). My ? w/ guesses: He says he ran it out of gas and now it won't start. My approach,1. spark, 2. fuel hose reversed, 3. open and clean fuel pump screen (can't find fuel pump kit listed in iboat marine store). ?'s: Is this motor a points w/condenser or electronic ignition. It has to have a fuel pump but I can't find it listed in iboats parts, hmmm. OK, guys, your best advice will be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, the motor was running 8 days ago (so I was told-boat alone is worth the price). Thanks all, this is the best dam* site around. Kudos to Ezeke and Paul.

Try the "Outboard won't start" in Engine FAQs.
