Hey all you iboaters,, considering buying a 1972 65hp evinrude with electric start. I have most of the wiring harness and need a wiring diagram. It has the pilot control box (can't think of the entire name). I was told it ran 2 years ago. Any help is appreciated. Haven't been able to get a manual yet. I just want to see if it will run before I go through a lot of trouble. I was going to connect a spring loaded toggle switch to a solenoid just to try starting it but don't know which wires to use. Seems it would be a great motor for my 17' bayliner. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

imho, go with a 73 or newer, 72 and prior were electric shift lower units, the parts are NLA, or very expensive, if you can find them.

Not only are the parts no longer made, but they are notorious for having shift troubles. Don't make the same mistake I have.
