Hello, I replaced the top crank seal on my motor. Now the armature plate is binding. Now when the crank moves the armature plate moves. I can’t for the life of me figure out what is binding. I put it back together exactly how I took it apart but something isn’t right. Please help

Perhaps one of the coils is rubbing on the flywheel.---Remember we can not see your motor.

It does it without the flywheel on. I put the nut on the crankshaft and turn it with a wrench and it still turns the armature plate. It has nothing to do with the fly wheel

Did you have the armature plate off?----Have never experienced that over many years / motors !----Side note.---Those U-shaped clips are not installed correctly on breaker points.

I actually replaced the points and I did put the clips in the correct way. That was the only picture I had which was before I replaced them. I had the armature plate off, but I have taken it off and put it back on many times and it’s still binding on the crank and I don’t know why because I didn’t do anything other than change the crank seal

I mean it turns it smooth as could be, but whenever you go to turn in the crank, it turns the armatur plate

Is the felt wiper too tight ----Remove the breaker cam and test again.

Nm I found out. I’m not sure how to tell if it’s to tight but I’m going to apply some oil to it since I just replaced it

Found out the flywheel was bent. It fell off my work bench and I just checked the teeth. Problem solved.
