I'm planning on dropping the lower unit to fix some water that I drained before winter from my lower unit (also going to do the impellor just because). I tried new washers at the beginning of last season because I had a litter water at the end of the previous season but this year there is more. What seals should I be looking to replace to prevent more water? Thanks.

You could always pressure test the gearcase to determine the faulty seal(s), but personally, I rarely bother with that. If I have the gearcase down, Im going to reseal the whole thing, but that is just me. Usual culprit is the prop shaft seal. Fishing line gets tangled in there and eats the seal. That is why it is good to remove the prop, and clean off the old fishing line now and then. Could also be the the shift rod seal, drive shaft seal,etc...

If you would like to pressure test the gearcase to determine the faulty seal, let us know and we can walk you through it. But personally, for the time it takes, I would just re seal and be done with it.
