1972 Johnson Power Tilt

The power tilt won't hardly raise the motor, it goes down just fine but you have to assist it to come up. I think it might just be low on fluid but where do you fill it and what fluid is used? It's a 100HP.

Check out this website: epc.brp.com This is the factory parts diagram website. Your early year shows the tilt diagram on pages separate from the rest of your engine. Check out the "outboard accessories" for 1972. In that section, you will find the tilt diagram for the 85, 100 and 125 from that year. Once inside that section, you will see that item #15 of the diagram is the oil fill screw.

Well update: I believe the motor is bad, I have the voltage going to the motor when I hit the switch. So my options seem to be a new motor which looks to be around $200 or continue to manually lift. Does anyone have any suggestions?
