Hello all. I need your assistance in resolving a new problem. A month ago, I replaced a blown trim pressure line in the bilge area and went for a three day campout on a local lake. The trim was working fine until loading up the boat on the trailer. The drive would not raise. At the boat ramp, I tried manually lifting the drive while the "up" button was being pushed; the pump is running, but I could not manually lift it. I had to take one of the pump oil lines loose which allowed lifting the drive by hand while bleeding oil into the bilge.
I assumed the level of the oil in the pump was too low to allow pickup by the pump, so today, I re-filled it--same result. I took the two lines loose from one of the lifting rams. Very little oil is ejected with the "up" switch. The "down" seems to be pumping properly. Does this sound like a pump failure or could the trim indicator system cause this?

The pump motor runs fine in both up and down modes; however, the motor revs higher and sounds completely unloaded in the "up" direction.
When I replaced the blown line prior to boating, I re-filled the pump with 5W-30--was that an error?

Any thoughts?

Thanks.
