1972 Starfire OMC Stern Drive

Hi everyone<br />New to this...Just got an old but nice 1972 Starfire with an OMC Stern Drive 225 HP. Having trouble with the starting system, in particular with what I now learned as a "starter slave relay". What is its purpose? Anyone familiar with this boat? Looked around in the net and found very little about the Starfire. Also, about the Stern Drive, how do I check/change fluids and what kind should I use? With so many people on this forum, I hope someone out there is familiar with this. Thank you all

I am also trying to locate some sort of electrical schematic. Someone in the past ( I think it was Mickey mouse) tinkered with the wiring....
