1972 steering cable replacement-find one

Can anyone help me locate a repl. steering cable, new or used of the same type as original or tell me how to figure out how to pick out and size a new type. Boat motor is a 100 hp outboard johnson without a steering tube on the transom mount.

Take your old cable out, measure it or take it to your local marina, it should be no problem to find a replacement. If it's a rack style system, you may consider a complete kit,which will convert it over to a rotary helm system. Expect to pay between $80 and $150 depending on what you end up needing. Your steering wheel will be reused unless you choose not to.
