I just picked up an AWESOME deal. 18ft V-160 Starcraft with 80HP merc, new interior, engine rebuilt, trailer, and a ton of extras, $500.00 = ) already had it on the water! My question is how do I tell exactly what kind of V-160 model this starcraft is? Whenever I search there are 20 choices of V-160. Can anyone help or inform me of exactly where to find what type of Starcraft this is. Thanks in advance.

Look for the ID plate, it should be black with white lettering of sorts. Mine was located right next to the driver, on the inside of the boat.

We need pictures also, can't id it if we can't get a visual. Oh yea, welcome to the Starcraft Brotherhood, aka the Nation or the "Starmada". Pictures are required for entry so get snapping UnSub.

PS add your location so we can know where you're from.

Check out the SC brochures thread linked in my signature for some help IDing the rig.

I think the V-160 came in OB and I/O models, not sure.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately no 1972 = ( but it looks like V-160 is a V-160 no other info. Looking for a manual on this boat if anyone has one.

Yep, the V-160 is what it is. I have seen the V-160 in I/O configuration, too. It is essentially the same as the later American series, with some minor deck layout changes. Fantastic hulls - I used to have a 16, and currently have the 15 and 18 in my fleet.

No such thing as a manual for the boat. Might find an owner's manual somewhere, but they rarely have anything in them beyond basic seamanship and sales pitch stuff. You can probably find one for the motor, and you can find basic wiring diagrams and such online. Not much more you need beyond that. If the boat needs repairs, there's a ton of info in the build/restore forum here on iboats.

Picts should be fixed. The forum deleted the photos it had up earlier...odd

Now I see it, looks kind of like the American. Really nice looking boat.
